The Thompsons is an independent horror thriller movie about vampires,  released in 2012. This film is the sequel of the horror movie The Hamiltons. This sequel is written by Mitchell Altieri and Cory Knauf and directed by the Butcher Brothers (Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores). The roles of the siblings in The Thompsons are mostly played by the stars of The Hamiltons, who are Mackenzie Firgens, Cory Knauf, Ryan Hartwig, Samuel Child and Joseph McKelheer. The other characters of The Thompsons are played by Elizabeth Henstridge, Sean Browne, Tom Holloway and Daniel O'Meara. 

The Thompsons tells the story of five vampire siblings, who are looking for a shelter after committing a massacre. But soon after they find a shelter, they also find that they have fallen in a dangerous trap.

Plot:

At the beginning of The Thompsons we see a boy (named Francis) is trapped inside a box and he starts saying how he has got here. He starts from a hotel and travels countryside looking for more people “like them”. His car breaks down on the way and he reaches a nearby village. He keeps telling us that they are fugitives. He enters a bar and looks for someone by name over the counter but the owners say that they don’t know anyone by that name. Then a local police comes to the bar, who thinks he knows Francis from somewhere, so being threatened, Francis kills him and takes everyone from the bar as hostages. In the meantime, we see a couple, who are trying to make love in a jungle, get chased and then caught by some very strange men.

From the bar, Francis calls his twin brother and sister, who are seducing (and later, kill) a lady in Paris. The brother gives Francis some information. Then two boys come to the bar who seem to be the cousin of the daughter of that bar’s owner. Francis holds them at gunpoint and asks the daughter of the bar’s owner to tie them, but they get free and attack Francis, who then becomes unconscious.

Then we see the whole story of the vampire siblings and Francis introduces them to us. The eldest brother is the one who looks after the family. The next two are twins, who do everything together. Then come Francis and his younger brother. They were travelling somewhere and on the way, they stopped at fuel pump. At the same time, a group of robber attacked there and accidentally, the youngest brother of vampire siblings got shot. The others became furious and killed everyone, including other innocent people. Their faces were caught on camera and thus they have become fugitives. They are now hiding at different places and Francis has set out to look for some other vampires who can help them.

When Francis regains his consciousness, he finds that the owner of the bar and his whole family are also vampires like him, excluding the daughter of the owner. Francis grows a special friendly relation with her, although he never gets along with her brothers. The bar owner then offers Francis his help and calls his other siblings to come and stay with them. Taking his offer willingly, the other siblings come there. But when they reach there, they find out that it is not what it seemed like. They realize, they have fallen in the trap of the bar owner. The hunter siblings are the ones who are being haunted now. They need to find a way to survive.

My review about The Thompsons:

First of all, I didn’t like the movie The Thompsons at all.

The plot is not that bad and neither is the screenplay. But The Thompsons is specially weak at the sides of acting and dialogues. The acting was very poor although most of the characters were good looking. The twist of the plot near the end of The Thompsons felt good. But overall, the plot seemed impractical even for a fantasy horror or a vampire movie.

I have a mixed feeling about the make ups in The Thompsons. Most of the characters looked good with their fangs, bloods and vampire faces, but the wounded peoples' makeups were nowhere near realistic.

This film clearly lacked some special effects. A very small amount of special effects were used in this movie. The Thompsons could be more enjoyable with some more and good quality special effects. Lighting and camera works looked pretty good at some places and also pretty poor at some others.

Mackenzie Firgens looked stunning in The Thompsons, even in very small screen time. I just wish she was given more screen time throughout the movie.

Due to some nude scenes every now and then and for the violent nature of it, The Thompsons is not suitable for kids.

So, finally, I didn’t like The Thompsons at all. At different reviews, I’ve read that this one is better than its prequel, The Hamiltons, but I can’t comment about that because I haven’t watched the prequel yet. This movie seemed to me like just a below average vampire movie. I will not recommend watching The Thompsons to anyone.

Generation Um... Movie Review

Generation Um…

                                                   

Generation Um… is a drama movie released in 2012. This movie is written and directed by Mark Mann and starred by Keanu Reeves, Adelaide Clemens, Bojana Novakovic and Sarita Choudhury.

Generation Um… shows a full day of a frustrated driver, who works mainly at nights and spends his days by doing nothing important.

Plot:

Generation Um… shows the events of a full day of a man named John and his two female friends.

At the beginning of Generation Um…, we see John is dropping his two friends off at their house in the morning with his car. John's these two friends are not gentle, where one of them is crazier than the other. After dropping them, John reaches his apartment where we see another boy living in that same apartment, who seems to be a big fan of John. John does some work with some electronics and then goes to bed. At the same time, his female friends who live in the same house, also go to sleep.

John wakes up at the afternoon and again talks with that boy in his apartment. Then he goes to a nearby restaurant and gets something to eat, while another person comes to meet him there. John delivers something to that man and gets paid. They also talk about some issues of life in the meantime. Meanwhile, one of John's friends wakes up and starts to take drugs in the house.

After the meal, John walks nearby and comes to a place where a group is performing a small show. John enjoys their performance and after the show ends, he steals the video camera of one of them. Although he gets chased by the camera’s owner and some other people but he still manages to run away with it. He spends the rest of the afternoon recording random things with that camera. Today is John's birthday, so he receives a gift of a $75 cheque from his mother. His patents call him all the day but he avoids receiving those calls.

At the evening, he goes to his friends’ house with the camera. One of his friends is already up and busy with drugs while the other is sleeping. The one with the drugs gets excited to see the camera and poses for it and John records them. She also dances for the camera. The other one then wakes up and at first, doesn’t agree to record herself. But later, after John’s and the other friend’s persuasion, she agrees. She talks about her early life, how her mother was abused by her father and other personal stuffs which get recorded by John. John also records the two girls talking about their first love and other things.

Then the night comes and John confirms someone over phone about an appointment. Then he takes the girl to a hotel, where we get to know about their professions, John’s profession and his relation with the girls.

My reviews about Generation Um…:

First of all, I didn’t like the movie Generation Um… at all, and I don’t think, anyone else will.

The plot of Generation Um… is too slow, boring and plain. A good amount of screen time was used only to show Keanu Reeves doing almost nothing. Then, most of the other times were used to show people talking.  Actually there is nothing interesting in this movie. The whole time, Generation Um… didn’t seem to go anywhere. It didn’t give any message and will not give make a good feeling to the viewers.

The acting of all the characters were good. There is no question about the capabilities of Keanu Reeves, but Adelaide Clemens, Bojana Novakovic both has also done a great job and played their characters perfectly. Actually these three are like the full set of characters of Generation Um…, all others had very small parts. 

The dialogues also seemed good, considering the plot. The make ups and costume designs were okay.

There is a little nude scene in Generation Um… and considering the nature of this movie, you should not watch it with kids.

So, overall, I didn’t like Generation Um…  I don’t understand why Keanu Reeves had to do this movie when he had such a good reputation and fame. Anyway, after watching this movie, I felt I’ve wasted my time in a very bad way. No way I’ll recommend watching Generation Um… to anyone.

Vile Movie Review

Vile is an American horror thriller movie released in 2011. This movie is written by Eric Jay Beck and Rob Kowsaluk  and directed by  Taylor Sheridan. The main parts of Vile are played by Eric Jay Beck, April Matson, Akeem Smith, Greg Cipes, Maya Hazen, Elisha Skorman, Heidi Mueller, Rob Kirkland, McKenzie Westmore and Ian Bohen.

In Vile, we see some people trapped inside a room and they must torture each other to get out of there alive. But even after facing extreme pains, they find that more horror is waiting for them.

Plot:

At the beginning of the movie Vile, we see a man is being tortured and something was going on with some chemicals.

Then the original plot begins with two couples, who are all friends, just finishing their camp outside the city. They are about to start for their home, when one girl gives some drugs to the other girl for safekeeping. On their way to home, they stop at a fuel station for refilling, when a lady comes to them asking for a lift. They agree and the lady gets on their car. The lady claims herself to be a perfume expert. When they reach to that lady’s car, she insists everyone to have some of her perfume’s samples. She goes to her car to bring the samples but instead, comes back wearing a gas mask and puts everyone in the car in sleep by spraying a gas.

The two couples wake up in a strange room and find four more people in the room. Suddenly, one of the other four people comes and breaks the finger of one of the girls. They all become furious and start a fight. But, soon both of the parties calm down and then see the video that the others are talking about.

In that strange cabin, there is a T.V.  and the recording of a women plays on that T.V. that tells them what is happening here. The woman tells that they are from a pharmaceutical company and they want to take some special chemicals which are produced by human brain only when people are in extreme pain, stress or trauma. Each of them has a small jar attached on their back, which is connected to their brain. They have to torture each other so that, those chemicals are produced and filled to a specific quantity. When the bar reaches 100%, the doors will open and they can all get out of this cabin.

The 8 of them gets divided into different opinions. Some of them believe the video tape, others don’t. But none of them can find a way out of that cabin. One of them doesn’t believe this at all and pulls the cords from his neck, and dies instantly. The others get scared and decide to follow what the lady has said. At first, together they torture one of them to fill his part of the bar, which, finally, brakes his leg. Then they have a lottery to decide who’s next and follow the serial.

They keep on torturing each of them by turn to fill the bar. The girlfriend, who has the drugs, gives one to her boyfriend so ease his pain, but instead he has to endure more pain to fill his part. A girl from the two couples is pregnant, so her boyfriend and the other 2 friends endure the torture for her.

Enduring all the pains, finally they all manages to fill the bar and starts to go out of the cabin one by one. But things don’t go smooth, one of them gets trapped again, who, to survive, has to do it all again completely by herself. The others who escape also find that the lady on the video was not honest about the getting out part of the plan and the plan seemed different from what she mentioned earlier. They also find a rat among them.

My review about the movie Vile:

First of all, Vile is a very disturbing movie. And by referring disturbing, I mean most of us will not enjoy watching this movie at all.

The one of the very few good things about Vile is its plot. The plot is exciting and innovative. A very good thriller movie can be made with the same plot. The ending was also interesting.

The acting and the screenplay in Vile were not as bad as they were expected to be. The dialogues were poor. The make ups were good.

The set design of Vile is very poor. The glass windows are visible several times in the whole movie which could easily be broken. And it is not believable how 7 persons cannot get out of wooden cabin who were provided all the equipment like gas, fire, axe, screw-driver, knife and so on.

The whole movie Vile is full of tortures and most of the scenes were graphic. All these torture scenes should seem pointless to anyone other than the hardcore fan of this genre.

Although there is no nudity in it, but it is easily understandable that Vile is not for children.  

So, finally, there is nothing to enjoy in the movie Vile and I felt like I’ve wasted my time watching it. I obviously, will not recommend watching Vile to anyone.

Munger Road Movie Review

Munger Road is a horror thriller movie released in 2011. This movie is based on the local myths and the urban legends of Munger Road, which is located in Bartlett, Illinois. The film Munger Road is written and directed by Nicholas Smith and starred by Bruce Davison, Randall Batinkoff, Trevor Morgan, Brooke Peoples, Hallock Beals and Lauren Storm.

The movie Munger Road tells the story of four teens who have some strange experiences at an empty road. At the same time, the local police learn that, a serial killer has escaped from the prison and he is heading to that empty road. The police follow the leads and it brings them where those four teens are.

Plot:

Four teens (two couples) start for an adventure where they want to see and record the paranormal activities of Munger Road. Legend has it, if they put their car in neutral gear and then stop it on the rail crossing, some ghost kids will push the car to safety. Although the girlfriends are not interested about it at all, their boyfriends are over excited to record this thing. They go to that spot and put some powder on their car’s bumper and then wait in the car. Their car really gets pushed by someone or something and they find prints of someone’s hand on the powder of the bumper.

At the same time, the sheriff of their town gets the information that a serial killer has escaped from the prison, who is responsible for the killings of several teens near the Munger Road. The next day is the day of a local festival and a lot of people are coming to this town for that, so the sheriff and the mayor get really serious to catch the killer. The sheriff, along with his deputy, goes to the killer’s previous home, where someone hits the deputy in his head in the dark and escapes. Then they start to look for the killer in all possible hiding places. They also find an abandoned car in the town.

Meanwhile, the teens in the Munger Road start their journey back. On the way, suddenly their car stops and they can’t start it again. It is an empty place with no houses or passing cars nearby and with no signals in their cell phones, so at first, they plan to stay in the car till the dawn. But later, they change plan and a boy goes out searching for help. In the car the others get scared when he does not come back in few hours. Suddenly, two of them get sms from that boy, where one of the sms urges them to run away from the car. The boy in the car checks the recording in his camera and finds another man’s presence near their car. Then the girlfriend of the boy who left earlier, leaves the car to seek help. Only two were in car and soon, someone comes to the car. The boy manages to run away before that person attacks but the girl’s fate is not shown. He again comes to the car to look for her girlfriend and then gets attacked by that person.

In the town, the sheriff and his deputy look for the killer at an underground tunnel which runs to a cabin near the Munger Road. At one point, they get separated and the deputy finds the remains of the body of that killer’s victim. The sheriff heads for the cabin in his car. The girl, who left the car second, reaches the cabin and gets attacked by someone. She manages to escape and finds her boyfriend hiding there. The mysterious person again catches them but finally, leaves the girl unharmed. Then the sheriff reaches the cabin, finding no bodies near the car or at the cabin, except the living girl. Then the sheriff learns a very strange information about the killer, which changes the whole scenario.

My review about Munger Road:

I don’t want to draw conclusion fast about Munger Road.

The plot of Munger Road is good and thrilling, except the ending. Everything was going fine throughout the movie and near the end, it may really make you thrilled, until at the very end, you will find the movie Munger Road is incomplete, as it ends abruptly  with showing ‘to be continued’. It felt very odd without any indication ago in the poster or throughout the movie. Regular viewers like us have every right to feel cheated by the way it ends.

To talk about the other aspects, the acting and the dialogues of Munger Road were actually good. The tension of this thriller movie keeps on building slowly and the director has succeed to keep us wondering about what is happening out there, without knowing exactly what to expect. Several times, it felt like its going to be a horror movie. In the middle of the movie, I was wondering why I haven’t heard about Munger Road earlier, as it seemed to be a pretty good one. Then I realized, it’s the ending which has taken all the credit away from this one.

The screenplay of Munger Road was also good. Two completely different stories, the story of the teens and the story of the sheriff, went parallel and converged beautifully at the cabin near the end.

But still, there were some plot-holes, which the director could avoid to improve the quality of the Munger Road. For example, if the prank about the ghost was played by the boys, then who pushed their car? How did they get the sms where there was no network? We saw the killer attacked a boy near the car, but how come the sheriff didn’t find any sign when he went there? And how come, two persons sitting in a silent car, can’t hear when their car’s trunk is being opened?

There are no adult scenes in Munger Road, so you can safely watch it with kids.

So, overall, I liked almost everything about Munger Road except the ending. Moreover, by searching on internet, I could not see any possibility of part 2 till when I’m writing this review. So I don’t know what the director is trying to do with this movie. And at the end, the ‘to be continued’ did not give me a good feeling. I will not recommend Munger Road to anyone, at least until I see any possibility of its second part.

1000 Times More Brutal Movie Review

1000 Times More Brutal

                                                     

1000 Times More Brutal is an American crime action thriller movie released in 2012. This film is produced, written and directed by Kamal Ahemd. The main characters of this movie are played by David Dastmalchian, Natalie Allen, Anthony Aveni, Rosario Aveni, Angelo Bonsignore, Peter Greene and Mark Love.

1000 Times More Brutal tells the story of a man and his friends who rob a mobster to take revenge. But after three years, when the mobster finds out who had robbed him and attach them back, they realize that all of their lives are now in danger.

Plot: 
1000 Times More Brutal is about a man (named Antonio) and his three friends. At the beginning of the movie, we see one friend of Antonio gets kidnapped. While Antonio is enjoying with his two other friends at a bar, a man gives them a VCD, which, when played, shows how the kidnapped friend has been tortured and murdered.

Antonio knows that the other three of them are also in danger. So, by using his late uncle's reputations, he asks for help to a mobster. When the mobster asks him in details about what actually happened, we see how Antonio and his friends have fallen in this life threatening situation .

Three years ago, when the four of them were going somewhere one night, a car blocked their way in a cross section, even when the signal was green. They started shouting but unfortunately, that car belonged to some local gangster. The team of that gangster came out of the car and beat Antonio and his friends severely.

Few months later from then, one of Antonio's friends found the gangster and his working place. They planned to rob that gangster to get their revenge. They planned the whole thing and examined all their possibilities. They spent enough time for taking their preparations and finally, robbed the gangster. After the robbing, they went to some place far away and enjoyed with their money. At one time there, four of them dropped a few drops of blood on a bill and kept that as a symbol of their bond.

Now after all these times, the gangster is attacking Antonio's group. After listening everything, the mobster (whom Antonio called) agrees to set up a meeting between Antonio and the furious gangster. When Antonio tells his other two friends about it, they become furious at first, but then agree to Antonio. His wife also gives him her support.

At the scheduled time, Antonio meets the gangster in presence of his guardian mobster. The gangster demands his money back. But its not possible for Antonio to get all these money back that he has spent already. Finally, the only solution that gets agreed by both is, Antonio will help the gangster to collect an amount of pending money from a party.

So, Antonio, along with his two friends, head to that place to collect the money. But everything doesn't go according to their plans.

My review about 1000 Times More Brutal:

First of all, I didn't like this movie at all.

The plot was okay. The ending seemed shocking and unexpected, but overall, the whole story of 1000 Times More Brutal looked realistic.

The weakest points of 1000 Times More Brutal are poor acting and bad screenplay. The director had the chance to make a better movie then this based on the same plot, but has failed completely. The bad direction and bad acting has ruined the whole movie. Specially, the acting of the leading character Antonio were the poorest of them all, followed by his friends. The acting of the villain characters of 1000 Times More Brutal were comparatively better.

The dialogues were also poor in 1000 Times More Brutal, had nothing to interest anyone at all. Dialogues are very important for gangster movies like this, but the director has also failed to realize their importance.

How their identities were revealed to the gangster seemed completely unrealistic. The director has also wasted enough time in 1000 Times More Brutal to show some unnecessary scenes, which didn't have much effect on the main plot.  

The screenplay were also poor, as I said earlier. Even with a plot like this, 1000 Times More Brutal will completely fail to keep you interested.

For the language, violence and nude scenes, this movie is not for kids.

So, overall, I didn't enjoy 1000 Times More Brutal at all. After watching this movie, I felt like I've wasted my time. I will not recommend watching 1000 Times More Brutal to anyone.

October Baby is an American drama movie released in 2011. This movie is written by Andrew Erwin, Jon Erwin, Theresa Preston and Cecil Stokes and directed by Andrew and Jon Erwin. The leading characters of October Baby are played by Rachel Hendrix, Jason Burkey, John Schneider, Jasmine Guy, Jennifer Price and Colleen Trusler.

The movie October Baby is about a teenage girl who, all of sudden, learns that she was born premature, was adopted and was a failed attempt of an abortion. Then she starts her journey to her birthplace and  to find her real mother.

Plot:

October Baby starts with a teenage girl named Hannah preparing for her role in her school play. Her good childhood friend (and apparently, her crush) visits her before the performance and they have a little chat. Hannah is feeling uneasy and nervous about her performance and soon after the drama starts, she has a seizure and faints on the stage. Her parents are in the theater to see her play, so they take her to hospital.

After staying at the hospital for one day, Hannah feels better and goes to home. Then she, along with her parents, has a session with her doctor. The doctor talks about her mental issues and says, the reason for her physical and mental issues is the fact that she was born premature. She already can not take this easy but then, she learns that her parents, as she knows them, are not her birthparents. She was adopted and her present parents do not know the name of her actual parents. She also gets the information that her actual mother tried to abort her and she is a result of a failed attempt of abortion.

After hearing all these, Hannah becomes confused, angry and depressed. She shares her feelings with that childhood friend (named Jason) and decides to find her real mother. From her parents, Hannah learns the name and location of the hospital where she was born. Then suddenly, some of her friends (including Jason) invite her to join a road trip they are having, which will pass through the place where she was born. Hannah agrees, and then starts that trip with her friends.

On the night when they stop at a hotel, Hannah shares room with Jason’s girlfriend and before sleeping, Jason’s girlfriend says offensive words to her about her situation. Hannah leaves the group instantly and starts walking. Next morning, Jason finds her by using a rental car and then the two of them spend a good day together. On that night, they rent a room at a hotel, but end up sleeping in the sofa of that hotel’s lobby.

On the next day, they go to the hospital where Hannah was born and find it abandoned. They break in and get caught by police. Hannah tells the police officer her story and fortunately, the officer knows the nurse who signed her birth certificate. The officer frees them and she goes to that nurse. That nurse is now a retired person and she tells Hannah all about the history of her birth. She also gives Hannah her real mother’s name and tells her about the brother that Hannah had.   

Hannah then goes to meet her real mother. But there everything doesn’t go fine. Then Hannah’s father comes there who has got information from Jason’s girlfriend. She takes Hannah home from that place.

Will Hannah go to her birth mother, or will she live with her present patents? Can she find her peace? Will she grow a relation with Jason? The last part of this movie is about her attempt to find the answers and also her attempts to find her inner peace.

My reviews about the movie October Baby:

First of all, I loved this movie.

The plot of October Baby is very good. The story felt realistic and touchy. The psychological conflicts, the confusions, the angers and all other emotions in a teenage girl are portrayed beautifully in this movie. The ending is also good. The filmmakers have tried to give us a message through October Baby and they have given that message loud and clear to us. 

The acting of almost all the characters in October Baby were good, so were the dialogs. Same goes for the makeups. The screenplay also seemed nice. Rachel Hendrix has performed perfectly here in her debut film and her appearance in this film was really charming. She looked extraordinary beautiful in the whole movie. But I must say, at some parts of October Baby, especially for only a very few seconds, the camera works didn’t look good at all.

Although all the artistes in October Baby have done a good job for themselves, but this movie could be better with some superstars in it.

There is no nude scene in this movie and you can watch October Baby with kids.

So, overall, October Baby is a nice movie. The strongest part of this movie is its plot and the combination of good casting, good acting and good screenplay has helped this beautiful plot to become a great movie. I’d recommend this movie to all movie lovers, because I believe, everyone will love watching October Baby.

Another Silence is a thriller movie released in 2011. This movie is written by Santiago Amigorena and Nicolás Buenaventura and directed by Santiago Amigorena. The main characters of Another Silence are played by Marie-Josée Croze, Ignacio Rogers, Tony Nardi and Benz Antoine.

Another Silence tells the story of a mother who seeks vengeance against the murder of her husband and son. Her journey leads her to another country where she finally comes face to face with the murderers.

Marie-Josée Croze in a scene of Another Silence

Plot:

At the beginning of Another Silence we see a female cop, named Mary, leading her peaceful life with her husband and her only son. Everything around them is going fine, until one day, when her husband and son head out to see a game, another car stops them on the way and someone from that car shoots them. Both of the father and the son gets brutally murdered there.

At first, the lady breaks down completely. She stops answering the phone and plays with her son's toys for hours. One day, her boss takes her to his office and shows him the videotape of the two cars. She asks her boss to give her the case to solve, but he refuses.

In the meantime, we see two Spanish-speaking boys, who have done some kind of job successfully and have got paid a handsome amount. After returning home, one of them finds that his wife has been sick and has gone to her village. He then starts for that village with his car.

Mary starts inquiring about the murders. She meets a gang leader, with whom, she seems to have some kind of history. The gang leader feels sympathy for her, but can only tell the name of the driver of the killer's car. He tells Mary that he doesn't know anything about the killer, as it was not a job by that gang family. Mary then finds the driver and realizing his innocence, doesn't kill him. She shoots him in his legs, but before that, learns the name of the killer of her husband and son. Meanwhile, the Spanish-speaking boy in another place has already reached the village to his wife and son.

Mary looks for the name of the killer in her police database and finds his location. She then heads for Argentina (shown later on). She finds the address of the killer and goes there. At that place, she finds the killer's friend, the another Spanish-speaking man. From him, he takes the location of the killer (the name of the village) and again heads there.

On that village, before Mary reaches there, the boy's (the killer's) bosses come and take him out of there. After going there, Mary finds the killer's wife and son. They cannot tell Mary much about the killer's whereabouts, but after getting some information, Mary goes to the border. There she bribes a policeman to learn information about the killer. She learns that, he is coming back through this border on the next day. In the meantime, we see the journey of the killer with his bosses.

Mary rents a hotel and gets a little friendly with the grand-daughter of the owner of that hotel. At night, one man, who gave a file to Mary earlier, enters her room and tries to kill her. But she gets saved. That man also tells Mary that why they have killed her family.

She waits for the killer on the next day at the border and when the killer enters the border in a truck with his bosses, Mary follows them by hijacking a car. When the killers stop at a cabin, then Mary leaves the car and finally, comes face to face with the killer of her family.

My reviews about Another Silence:

First of all, I'll mark Another Silence as a below average thriller movie.

The plot is good and so is the ending. But the problem with the plot of Another Silence is, it is very simple. Actually, it will seem too simple to keep you attracted. A twist of plot could make it much more interesting. Although, Another Silence is about the desire of revenge of the main character, but this movie felt more about her journey than about her revenge.

Acting of all the main characters in Another Silence were good. Marie-Josée Croze looked stunningly beautiful but simple in the whole movie. The makeups were also good, where the dialog were very simple.

This movie clearly lacked some action scenes. Even with a plot as plain as this, Another Silence could do better with some more action scenes. Here, several times, the director has shown different part of the journey of the main character in details, which seemed unnecessary and boring. Actually, in Another Silence, there is not much of excitements. From a thriller movie, the lack of excitements is a big turn off for viewers like us.

What seemed unnatural in Another Silence is, at the end, when Mary saw the killer in a truck, she recognized him instantly, although she has not seen his face or photo ago.

There is no nude scene in the whole movie, and overall, you can watch Another Silence with kids.

So, finally, although Another Silence has some good elements, overall it did not seem as a good movie only for the missing elements of excitement. I will not recommend to watch Another Silence to anyone.
